Question about Mewes

I have some friends in Nashville, TN. They met a guy claiming to be Jason Mewes. He said he cut ties with Kevin Smith stemming from his heroin arrests and in turn moved to Nashville to live. I'm not sure if it's true or not. There are people who believe it but I'm having a hard time believing it. Hopefully someone will be able to clear this up for me. Thanks....
