This offends me, because prayer and fasting for a person of faith is a very personal thing that is done as an act of faith and devotion. Doing this makes it like its saint patricks day and we all wear green, making it like some comical meaningless act.

Plus you know what, you can not make ppl do an act of faith that is not in their hearts to do, and if that person is not a person of faith what sense does it make for them to even try?

Yes, pray for the troops if you are so convicted to do so, but it should not be government mandated to do acts that are very personal acts of faith to those who are of a Christian faith.

Bush, if he truly is a christian as he proclaims should know better than trying to force an religion or acts of a religion on people,it only makes ppl turn away from God in the long run. My opinion is everyone has the choice and needs their own way to come to terms with God and their belief in him, if any. You cant just point a finger at someone and say "you have to believe in God and pray to him all day today cause the president says so."

Truthfully i can not stand religion, religion is what gives God and Christians a bad rep. faith and religion are not the same thing.
