I actually learned it for marching band ("one time at band camp...") and just can't get the tone for real jazz on it. Born and bred classical/marching on it. Now my clarinet... that is fun with jazz music. Doesn't seem like it would be, but man is it. But better then both of those, flute really is my favorite.
