: I think some of it is innate, for from intelligent parents intelligent offspring come, but it could be because they are read to and their education is taken seriously. Intelligence also stems from experience and age. If you limit yourself to outside influences such as college or something to better yourself, you'll always be stuck at the mind set you are. I've also noticed that the smarter people tend to hang around together, so that type of influence and conversation stimulates you aswell.
