I checked IMDB, and yes he had nothing to do with Cable Guy, I must have been thinking of someone else. Haven't checked out any of his other stuff, but I did think Ace Ventura was pretty good. And yes I have seen Monty Python, but I didn't make myself clear enough... I suppose I was referring more towards the visual gags than the actual intelligent humor. But thanks for you input, to each his own I guess.
