First I guess I should fill you in on the MTV thing. In a nutshell, MTV was initially casting for the show Made(which I have yet to see) and basically offering to help you reach your goal or something(although most of it seems like makeover shit). I talked to them about how I wanted to be a filmmaker and to accomplish it I wanted to go to this summer mini film school thing(which I didn't wind up getting into). I suggested they could help with the application and pay the tuition. They called me the next day, we talked and they asked me to make them a video. I did and edited it at school and it was hella sweet. They talked to me that friday night I guess or something and they basically asked me the same stuff I've said...in the e-mail, on the phone initially, in the video, and once more I repeated it. They seemed to be under the impression I inteded to be a stand-up comedian(??? when I was 7 I did, but what the fuck? Do they have ADD?). They never said anything definitive really, something like prolly not. A few days later I write my contact there and she says something about how the casting director said on the phone that they didn't have the budget for a $6,500 program(very understandable).
Anyway, I have a chance to re-pitch to them now. My question is do I re-pitch the same as I can remember, knowing the school app won't be available till september, have to be sent in by march, and the school in next july and knowing they couldn't afford it last time OR do I ask for a camera and editing setup(!!!) knowing they will very likely ask me to make them some short film and knowing I have no idea what I'd film.
