I've been watching CSI and CSI: Miami since they started and I really enjoy the shows for what they are - entertaining television.

Neither CSI nor CSI Miami are about killing drug users nor putting them in jail, they are about solving crimes and bringing the responsible parties to justice. If a drug user is involved in a crime and the crime is punishible by death, then the punishment is carried out. I also don't think that I have ever seen a punishment carried out on either show - it's not the type of show where it says "You are guilty and will be sentenced to life in prison" I don't think it's ever goe that far down the track.

Someone said in a follow up post, that "addiction is a disease" I've always had a hard time swallowing that line. I am sure on some level it is, but as a pack and a half a day smoker for 10 years, a social pot smoker for almost as many and a regular cocaine user I never had any problem giving any of those up - I think it depends on your discipline and self control. Luckily for me, I must have a lot.

My brother has been a chronic pot smoker for 10 or 12 years, and it's ruined his life. He's lazy, abusive, self indulgent and immature and I think it's because of his drug usage. My best friend is exactly the same way.

I don't think that dehumanizing drug sellers or drug users is a bad thing, what should we do instead - just pretend like it doesn't exist?

I'm not starting anything here, I am just trying to understand your point.
