Love that expression.. "give a go", so whimsical.
Anyways.
The ending is a part of the adaptation process, about how all the factors in the screenwriters life affect the final outcome. Since the characters are basically living in the "Adaptation", when Charlie starts going to the Robert Mkee' seminars and lets Donald read the Script it and give his input it "contaminates" the flow of the script (his life), and then it evolves into a cliché filled world with Coke snorting dealers, wild car chases, people getting eaten by crocodiles, heartfelt sap and life affirming moments. All the thing that charlie wanted to avoid, but endend up happening to him, like in Mckee's speech (paraphrasing) "People lose love, find love, kill, betray... etc everyday in their lives, and if you haven't you're not even alive).
it's basically a very clever way of ending a story that would've been very hard to end satisfactorily, I think.
