A few months ago, at Jason O'Brien's Oliver Stone website (www.fast-lane-productions.com), Psycho director Mary Harron herself (well, at least I THINK it was her-either that or some asswipe using her name) posted on the message board that she thinks Stone (who was supposed to direct the project back in 1998) should go ahead and do another version of the movie; she says she read the original script online at simplyscripts.com and thought it was interesting.
I myself think this is a great idea-maybe Stone could do it after he's done with his Alexander the Great biopic with Colin Farrell (if you can remember, he originally left American Psycho because Leonardo DiCaprio dropped out as Patrick Bateman-the reason DiCaprio gave at the time was that he didn't want to alienate the teenage female fanbase he adopted after Titanic-but I think he would be able to do it now, after already having done much darker fare like Gangs of New York).
