: : Dedicated to Ming cause I was told this is the Ming appreciation poll. Wow this is my first poll in awhile. I wanted to make up for all the pimping. : : Although I know some of you won't admit it, we all have fears. That's what this poll is about. : : 1. Name or explain a childhood fear. : I was usually terrified when I was trying to go to sleep that there would be people or monsters under the bed, in the closet, or coming in the window to take me away. There was even a set of curtains I had for a while that had innocuous shapes during the day, but after dark the shapes turned into little men and/or monsters (who were, of course, intent on taking me away). : : : : 2. What is one of your biggest fears in life now? : That something bad will happen to one of my children, (especially that people or monsters will show up in the dark to take them away). : : : : 3. What's the scariest/most disturbing film you've ever seen in the tenure of your life? I mean, this stunk in your head days afterwards... : Nightmare on Elm Street (I think it was part four.) I don't watch many horror movies and that was one of the first. I still can't get the picture out of my head of some girl being made into a puppet w/her veins as the strings. : Also, Fatal Attraction and Pacific Heights had quite an impact on me. : : : : 4. What do you do to take your mind off of things that upset you? : VA Board, tv, and movies : : : : 5. Do you do anything somewhat superstitious "just in case?" Explain. : I was raised Baptist, and they told us that you have to pray "in Jesus name" in order for your prayer to "count". I no longer believe that God(dess) will not hear if I don't pray "in Jesus name", but I still say that in most of my prayers. I don't know if I'm doing it "just in case" or just out of habit though. : : : : 6. Name or explain something dangerous you've done that you knew was dangerous. : sky-diving, drunk driving : : : : 7. Very morbid question: Have you ever been in a situation where the thought crossed your mind, even if for a brief moment, that you might honestly die (i.e. surgery, accident, gun to your head, etc)? Explain if you feel up to it. : Yes, while giving birth to my first child. It was a difficult delievery and I remember hearing someone say "I'm losing heart tones," as I drifted off to "sleep". I remember deciding I was too tired to go on. I didn't see any white light or anything, but when I woke up, my mom, my husband, and my best friend were crying. I didn't really analyze it at that moment, cause I had to get back to birthin', but I think I almost checked out. : : : : 8. Tension breaker question: If you were a super hero, what would your weakness be? : simple, S-E-X. All a villian would have to do is start trying to seduce me, and I'd be too distracted to continue fighting crime. : : : : Yes, I read every answer.
