I think that you can understand that I was making a broad generalization. in my experience, very few people who smoke weed past high school finish college, and beyond that, very few actually do something with their lives. there are those who are very successful tokers, but I think it's safe to say that there aren't very many happy and successful 40 year old pot heads out there. and, yes, i'm sure that you can come up with an anecdote about someone you know, but i'm just speaking in general terms here.
: : like I've never been around weed and all it has to offer before. i'm not trying to hate on you, dude, but weed leads to a fast food job, and that's it. that shit is great while you're in high school, even college, but there comes a time when you've got to pass that shit for the last time if you ever wanna succeed.
: But he's already said he's only 18. I think that comes firmly within your high school and college category, don't you? Let the kid enjoy it for a while.
: As a grown up who is a stoner, I can't argue too much with you. Though I have not, nor will I ever, have a fast food job, thank you VERY much. My mistake was being an English major, which pretty much prepares you for jack shit in the marketplace. So I'm a secretary. If I were higher up on the administrative ladder, I'd give it up, but as I have enough trouble just making it through each day with all the FUCKING stupid things I have to do, I continue to smoke. When I return to the tri-state, I'll consider giving it up, but only if I get a job that's worth it.
