: You bring up a very valid point of what the movies teach us. All of entertainment really, be it, movies, music, romance novels, etc. But I think by 23 one would be able to realize that these things are ridiculous to expect. The scary thing is, I know a LOT of women who have alot of the same unattainable prerequisites themselves. And you know me Jill, I love women and I respect them totally, just not those kind of women.

The leading player always gets the girl, unless the girl IS the leading player, in which case she gets the guy. And she gets the exceptionally cute guy, the one with all the money, even when she's goofy-looking. I always thought Ducky got the raw deal, my friends; I'd have picked him over Blaine any day. But we had this conversation not long ago, so I won't go there again.
Most major media does its damndest to get us to believe that true love is around every corner, and that a happy ending happens every day. It's just not true, folks. I'm not saying it doesn't happen to ANYONE; of course it does. But the way it just gets jammed down our throats, day after day, in books, and music, and movies... it makes you feel fucking maladjusted if you're not paired off in a perfect relationship by the time you're 24.
