Have you read any of Gaiman's other stuff? The man is genius. He was how I started reading comics. And his novels are just... just... fantastic.
Just finished some Mercedes Lackey and Laurell K. Hamilton. About to start a Charles De Lint, followed by the newest Mammoth Best New Horror compilation. Douglas Adams (RIP) and the Red Dwarf novelizations are favorites. I love Frank Herbert's Dune series, up till they jump several million years into the future and stop making even the vaguest kind of sense. Christopher Golden is pretty cool; I sent him an e-mail complimenting him on one of his books, which I'd never done for anyone before, and he wrote back. It was really nifty! And Pratchett, of course, is right up there.
