: TR, you do some good polls...quite thought provoking sometimes... : : Although I know some of you won't admit it, we all have fears. That's what this poll is about. : : 1. Name or explain a childhood fear. : Not very interesting - but I was afraid of the dark. Still am, as a matter of fact. It took me years before I would turn off a little lamp on my nightstand. Also, I used to get it into my head that when my mom would go to work on the weekends (weekdays for some reason, I didn't have this fear) that she would get mugged on the subway. I had this irrational fear someone would see my mom as a good target and want to mug her. This lasted until she switched jobs. : Also..tornados. Still have that one. I get freaky hearing about even a tornado watch, and I know one of the least likely places for a tornado to hit would be where I live. : : 2. What is one of your biggest fears in life now? : I don't know - that I'm never going to follow through with anything - or that I'm never going to meet the "one" or whatever and be able to have that happy married life. : : 3. What's the scariest/most disturbing film you've ever seen in the tenure of your life? I mean, this stunk in your head days afterwards... : Either the Exorcist - the scene where she is stabbing herself with the crucifix, or in the Omen - where the Nanny is standing at the ledge - but smiling and saying "I'm doing this for you Damien"...Creeped me out for days. : : : : 4. What do you do to take your mind off of things that upset you? : Take my bulldog for a long walk, throw on some music. Clean, do laundry. : : : : 5. Do you do anything somewhat superstitious "just in case?" Explain. : How about stuff I don't do? I've never done the Bloody Mary or the Candyman thing. Now, I know it's all bullshit..but I'd rather not be the one it suddenly works on. : : : : 6. Name or explain something dangerous you've done that you knew was dangerous. : hitchhiked, I guess. not safe for a female these days..but in general, i guess a lot of my college behavior would be viewed as unsafe...it was like everything in excess.. : : : : 7. Very morbid question: Have you ever been in a situation where the thought crossed your mind, even if for a brief moment, that you might honestly die (i.e. surgery, accident, gun to your head, etc)? Explain if you feel up to it. : Yep, was nearly in a car accident once. Terrified me. I was biking, didn't see a car coming..guy was going so fast - if he hit me, I woulda been done. : : : : 8. Tension breaker question: If you were a super hero, what would your weakness be? : I guess I would be the superhero with a nicotine addiction. I imagine that would get in the way of my crime fighting if I needed to stop and grab a smoke from time to time : : : : Yes, I read every answer.
