And since Barnes & Noble has taken up way too much of my money over the years, I do hate to see shelf space taken up by those lacking talent.
But I figure, it is just one book..no harm, no foul.
I mean, they let Ethan Hawke write two books. (And I'm passing ignorant judgement here, I haven't read either of them - but I read an exerpt of his first in a magazine and didn't feel the need to read further).
My choices of authors are def. easy to criticize - I like a lot the Jonathan/Faye Kellerman books - and I've used to have quite the extensive Dean Koontz collection (who I've since noticed uses the phrase "By God..." excessively in all his books) - but I enjoy what I'm reading at the time, so if Manson's book does that for someone else, does it really matter? The fact that O~* is promoting it so much makes me want to read it, to be honest. And if I don't like it? Worse comes to worse, I've just lost a couple of hours of my life.
Hope none of this sounded snotty, cause I didn't mean it to....but I think it all does really come down to a matter of taste.
