Beginner cook books, kinda fun ones, like the dummy books of one geared toward a bachelor.
A really good looking suit...he will need one through out various times in the next few years...job interviews...school events...just to look sharp for a date...whatever...If he does not have good taste in clothes, send someone near his age that does to help him pick it out.

I guess some of this depends on what you relation ship to him is....? Brother? Significant other? Son?
