Is it just me, or is this (and admittedly, I've only been watching for a few minutes) the night for Tony awards to people who've been waiting a really long time for them? I haven't seen many (or, in fact, any) shows this year, so I don't know if they're valid or not. But it just seems like the people who are winning are ones where the voters went, "Wait, how old is he/she, now? Well, lets throw a Tony at them, they've waited long enough. If we don't do it now, they might not be alive the next time around...."
