I have noticed as Kevin mentioned in his DVD (EveningW/KS)that the critics had picked up on alot of the comments he had made in the past about his work, for example his camera work, his crude dialogue, and being uncreative. And when i heard what the maker of "George Washington" said about him dropping the level for indie cinema made me see red. Now i hate too say it i enjoyed his movie, however it seems they wanted too do a movie based in their interests and skills, yet would say Kevins work is handicapped because he wrote what he knows, shot how he wanted, and enjoyed the process(sounds like the only non-handicapped person in movies). Now i am not a critic i watch too much of movies and tv if its bad i turn it off, i read a 100 comics a month some are good some great and some fall short- but I would never criticize them because they got paid too do something and we the audience watched or read it, we the audience had more options than the creator did at that point. After all he cant change his work or art once completed he just hopes the project is good. Thats where my questions come in and maybe im too mean or too competitive but if i dont like something someone else does it gives my ego a boost and my mind hope that i could do better. But i dont want too be convinced bye a bad show, comic, or movie that ive been let down or ripped off. So why do so many critics, and their seem too be alot drawn too the website; always feel let down bye the artists and creators they claim too admire???? And where are the critics ambitions??? Also does Kevin consider Mallrats a failure? because if he does thats the only critiscism that counts too me!! Even though i thought it was true relationship humor along with typical and true reactions from the characters- how could it be a creative failure? If its true too the creator i dont think it can be, could be sophmoric but i dropped out after my freashman year so how would i know. Thanx Storme Smith ps : i can handle critiscism unless its about my penis size - i mean i cried tears of joy when she said it was too big !! wait thats a compliment sorry like i said high school drop out!! Actually Critics suck but who hasnt at some time or another
