In Reply to: Clerks! The Musical - Soundtrack list inside... posted by Trent Reno on June 11, 2003 at 13:26:05:
: Since many of you voted for Clerks to be adapted into a musical, I saved Kev and company some time and wrote out the soundtrack listing. Let me know what you all think.
: 1. "Clerkin' Around (I'm not even supposed to be here today)" - Dante and Randall sing a song that provides info as to who they are and what they're all about. It's a big opening number. It kind of sounds like the song from "Cats."
: 2. "37 is a lot of dicks to suck" - Veronica sings alone, but it turns into a Veronica/Dante duet and she storms out. This is the love song.
: 3. "Pop-culture" - Dante, Randall, and lots of customers sing about everything from Star Wars to jizz mopping. This is a fast paced song.
: 4. "Bezerker!" - Olaf, Jay, Bob, and that girl sing this long, heavy song with lots of profanity.
: 5. "..." - Silent Bob's solo song.
: 6. "Those Clerks Must Die" - the customers sing this one outside while the guys play hockey on the roof.
: INTERMISSION
: 7. "She was one of the 12" - Dante sings this solo as he hears that Julie died. They leave for the wake.
: 8. "Funeral" - This number at Julie's wake turns into a big song as everyone sings in anger. It ends with a helicopter coming down to take Dante and Randall away ala Miss Saigon.
: 9. "We're Just Hookers" - A bunch of hookers sing this. It's here because every musical has a number with singing hookers.
: 10. "Let's try this Again" - Dante and Caitlin sing this slow number as they fall back in love. It has a guy playing a sax in the background.
: 11. "Techno Boogie" - Jay sings a song that rallies a bunch of potheads together ala Les Mis. They're all about to go inside and fight the opression caused by the Clerks, but instead they all get stoned and forget everything.
: 12. "37 is a lot of dicks to suck (reprise)" - Veronica hears of Dante's plan to get back with Caitlin and gets really pissed off. The She hires the Phantom of the Quickie Mart to come out and attack Dante. Randall comes to the rescue and the Phantom dies a tragic death. Veronica accidently dies too. Dante holds her lifeless body and sings a solo, then cries.
: 13. "Closing the store" - This number with Dante and Randall starts slow, but then turns into a reprise of "Clerkin' Around." Curtains close.
