: : : : Led zeppelin
: : : : Pink floyd
: : : : David bowies
: : : : Beatles (kinda)
: : : : Cat stevens
: : : : etc.....

: : : their last album (Abbey Road) was recorded in 1969. "Let it Be" came out in 1970, BUT was recorded in 1968. Rock died with "Abbey Road" in 1969, everything afterwards was variations of Rock.

: : I disagree, you don't have to talk collectively when you say Beatles, Lennon, McCartney and Harrison were all making great music, individually, well into the 70's.

: Wings is mostly ghey. Lennon didn't find his niche until right before he died. Harrison was the only one who put together perfection in the 70's....and it was only 1 album.

While Let it be was recorded in the 60's (As was All Things Must Pass) they were not released until the 70's which puts them in that genre. Also released were many great albums, Imagine, Mind Games, Some Time in NY City by Lennon, All Things (including Apple Scruffs and My Sweet Lord, 70's anthem in my mind) and Concert for Bangladesh by Harrison, and Band on the Run and London Town by McCartney, so while you may say these do not hold as much weight as collective Beatles albums, I say that is subject to individual interpretation and at the very LEAST allows us to include them in this poll.
