I think it's going to turn away a lot of people - the people that like the preview and aren't big QT fans. His fans will pack the theaters, no doubt, but anyone that isn't a movie buff is going to think "So ... stead of paying 8 bucks to see a movie I pay ... 16? Fuck that." I know I would - hopefully I'm wrong.
I can't wait to see it. I'm thinking about just waiting until both come out and watching both parts in one day. Ye-ah.
