Is one of my all-time favorite songs, by just about anyone. But then, I went through a fierce Monkees phase when I was in my middle school years, during which I got my hands on Head (that just sounds wrong, doesn't it?). I used to watch it constantly, and still do pop it in every year or so. Very few of my friends, growing up, were willing to sit through the whole thing, but I just couldn't get enough. And since I've gotten older, and found out more about what was going on during the filming, and found out who Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson are (and more importantly in this case, what they looked like in 1968, rather than what I was used to seeing them look like)I've seen even more interesting cameos than the Annette Funicello and Terri Garr ones I already recognized. Besides, there's hookah smoking, fake arrow wounds, a transvestite, a magic mirror, dandruff, a big black box, some good music, and a really, really tall guy. Who could ask for anything more?
