Buying one of everything is expensive. I am a big fan but not rich if I didn't have concent I wouldn't spend the money I've been aquiring to purchase everything. I would use my money elsewhere. And I would never stop being a Smith fan. I just wanted to get responses. Thanks for your advice.
: You just flat out write your script as you want to write it... and just worry about the ramifications of it afterwards, if you happen to sell the script, the producer's legal team will figure out if you can keep "Kevin" in it or take him out and write a director you actually created in.
: I mean "Being John Malcovich"... Kaufman just wrote and just had to hope that Malc wanted in... and in fact, had to change which celebrity was from whoever it was to Wild Thing Ricky Vaughn in rewrites.
: If John didn't like it, he just would've had to shop it around as "Being Gary Sinese" or "Being Willam DaFoe" or whathaveyou.
: The fact that you believe that Kevin's participation, however, is the only way your picture can sell... suggests to me that you don't trust the material. If it's good material, it would work with any director or any fictious director.
: And if your concept could not work without it and is wholly dependent on in-jokes that only the 10,000 people who read this board would get... then it's probably honestly not going to get funded.
: Write your story of an obsessed fan. Maybe down the line, if it's a good script, you could tweak it to fit a certain celebrity, once you've lined up funding and a production team.
: But if it's wholly dependent on someone else's fame... it's probably a shitty script, man.
: Be well and do good work, that's what Garrison Keilor says.
: Also, offering buying all of the Stash's merch as a "bribe" to get Kevin's approval of the script? Again, what the fuck are you thinking?
: Bushleague.
