: My wife and I are going to New Jersey at the end of August for a week. One day will be spent in NY, and we wanted to sit in on a taping of the Daily Show. Well, surprise to me, they're booked until the 20th (or so) of September. (Never would've thought I'd have to call two months or more in advance! Silly me)

: Anything up and coming that would be a worthy sustitute? Maybe a TV show, maybe not...I was thinking of seeing if the UCB improv theater was gonna have a show that week...I assume something like Letterman is probably booked up, too -- right?

: Any suggestions?

: C'mon...

: No, really...

: Help me plan my trip...

Letterman does have standby the day of the show (I work for CBS, you will have fun, but dress warm, the studio is FREEZING!!), go to the Ed Sullivan Theatre which is Broadway, btw 53rd and 54th street, or go to cbs.com, or call (212) 975-4321 which is cbs...Conan is fun too, he is in rockefeller plaza. Also, go to the TKTS booth and get 1/2 price bway show tickets for that evenings performances 46th and bway. Great restaurants, or Madison Square Garden sporting events, museums etc...

hope that helps!
