how do you define indie company?
Why is troma an indie company and warner brothers or miramax or whatever isn't?
Because warner brothers is smart with their money and makes safe choices for the most part, why isn't a film just distributed by them an indie film if it was produced by them?
Troma offers an avenue for people to get their flicks out just as mirimax does on the distribution side.
The real difference I think comes at the bank roll and production side.
That is when you can say it's indie or not. After all, you need some one to put it into theatres for you, other wise it's just a home movie.
