But it's not that I think Toby couldn't play a dark character. My point is that Spidey is a toubled yet morally responsible hero. A hero with a built in side-kick. Regardless of how dark Parker may feel, he almost always will buck up and take the high road. Brooding, thoughtfull AND light-hearted. In all honesty, how could anyone screw up a character like that? But Sam strikes me as a guy who lives that chemistry.
