Ugh, I don't like the idea of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre being remade. Why mess with a classic? Remake of Psycho, anyone? Cripes, was that godawful. Not to mention completely unnecessary. So why make a new Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Do they think they can duplicate the success of Scream? Scream was a fluke; it came about at a time when horror was practically a forgotten genre, therefore the movie seemed new and fresh. I liked it because it was its own thing, not a re-done or re-worked or re-anything classic. But even the Scream franchise wore out its welcome relatively quickly. Horror just isn't the booming business it once was in the '70s and particularly the '80s. Why remake horror films? There's just no need for that. If you're going to do a horror film, do something different. Hell, at the very least do something new in an old series. But don't re-do a movie that's already been done. Especially not exactly the same way (you hear that, Van Sant?).
If it's true that Jessica Biel is involved in this remake mess, I hope her character bites it. I can't stand that girl in the slightest.
