: I know there's a thread down below on this topic, but I wanted to try and get some responses, and I didn't want anyone to miss it.

Yes, I missed it...actually, I haven't read down the board yet, technically, but...

: In all of the talk about Jersey Girl, I think one major point has been missed.

Point it out then...

: Alot of people have been saying it's a bad sign that the studio has pushed it backuntil February. I on the other hand think it's fantastic.

I don't think it's a bad sign either. I think many people are just disappointed that they have to wait to see it.

: This is a romantic comedy. Kevin's first forray into non r rated material. Which means more teens and twenties people will go see it on dates. It is a date movie for goddsakes.

That is true, plus, the older ladies who enjoy the romance (you know, all those housewives that made Titanic such a massive hit even though it was a piece of shit) will flock to this in droves. They won't know who Kevin
Smith is and they won't care.

: And what's goin on in Febrauary that forces guys to take chicks on dates? Oh yeah Valentines day.

Another good point.

: I think the studio did a wonderful thing here. After all, Summer is for the blockbuster action flick, October is for the Horror flick, December is for the family flick, January is for the flick that you know is gonna lose money as no one has any to spend, And February is for the romantic comedy.

Sure, sure...you've given this a lot of thought...Kevin would be proud.

: I think the studio putting this movie out head to head with action flicks and horrow flicks and flicks we all know are gonna carry the day would have been stupid.

Up against The Matrix it would have been a disaster.

: I'm of the opinion the studio thinks this movie is gonna be great, after all they want to make the bank, and they are putting it out against everyone esle's romantic comedy. They feel this one is gonna be the best in their mind.

Sure, but if the performances are really Oscar caliber, don't you think that the studio should have waited even longer? Movies released at the beginning of the year are usually long forgotten by nomination day...and I know Oscars mean nothing to some of the folks here, so don't even start with that people...

: What do you think of this arguement? Agree? Disagree?

Basically, I agree.

: Think there wasn't enough boobie references in it?

It's hard to work boobie references into every topic.

: Wanna buy some pot?

All set, thanks.
