But seriously, don't do anything public/putting her on the spot unless you are 100% sure that she will say yes. I knew a guy in a band who proposed to his girlfreidn from stage -- being embaraased and in public, she said yes...but it quickly turned to "no" later the next day...
As for this whole Kevin thing -- he doesn't even know you! Why would he want to help you get married? For all he knows you're a wife beater or something. If you want to do something public, at least get someone who knows you well enough to care that you love this girl to help you out.
