Ozzy declares his gubernatorial hopes

LOS ANGELES, -- Ozzy Osbourne says he will run as an independent
to succeed Gov. Gray Davis as California's chief executive.
But the Los Angeles Times noted Osbourne may encounter
some criticism over accusations he's a Satanist and animal
torturer. During a concert he allegedly bit the head off a
live bat. Recently, Osbourne has found fame in a reality
television sitcom. During a Tuesday news conference at his
Beverly Hills mansion, the Times quoted Osbourne as saying
he realizes people will view his candidacy as a joke. But,
he said: "The sad truth is a $38 billion state budget is no
joke -- that's a (expletive) suicide solution. ... I want
to take this moment to assure California voters that I
stand before you today not to make trouble and confuse matters,
but because I can simply do a better fucking job
than Davis. "If I can bite the head off a live bat, then I
can take a bite out of this fucking state deficit."
