Does Jason Lee speak French?

I was in France recently (business trip)... I was watching TV in my very shitty hotel room and suddenly I came across a movie... and suddenly, I saw a guy who looked just like Jason Lee! The thing is, he was speaking French most of the time, although he did speak English in parts ("You God Damn French, learn how to drive!"), which would have French subtitles. From the little French I understand, I guess that the guy who is or looks like Jason Lee was an American character who was living in France and was trying to be a chef. I didn't get to see what it was called, or the entire movie...

But if it was Jason Lee, it proves just how amazing of an actor he is... it's very tough to speak another language fluantly. Can anybody tell me whether it was Jason Lee or not?
