You know, I'm getting a little sick of all of you Negative Nancies saying that the horrific failure of Gigli is going to have any impact on Jersey Girl, or the Miramax's support for it.
You know, I remember a few years back, a lot of people were worried when Billy Bob Thornton dumped Laura Dern that it might affect the movie they had just done together ("Daddy and Them"). Everyone was all like "Miramax is going to shelve Daddy and Them," and "Miramax doesn't like all this bad press with Laura Dern and Anglina Jolie" and so on.
Well, let me tell you, people. Miramax didn't back down, not for a second. They stuck by Daddy and Them just like they're going to stick by Jersey Girl. Miramax is not the kind of studio that would shelve a movie for 3 years and then dump it off to Showtime. No sir! When they make a movie, they stick by it! And they're going to stick by Jersey Girl too.
Let's all give Miramax a big hand for their backbone!
