Yeah, that piece is a load of crap, but that's what gossip/entertainment columnists get off on. Look at how she made a point of saying that Kevin "rather bizarrely compares them [critics] with the Columbine killers." And that's what they do to the letters you write them. Even if just one letter used obscenity or was poorly written, the columnist can say, without fear of lying, that they have received "poorly spelt and obscene letters from Kevin Smith fans."
It's the old, cornball saying, "Don't stoop to their level." Trust me, I know the type (we can smell our own). Writing them is just throwing chum in the water.
Let them at least do the nominal work of surfing to the webboard to see our complaints. Like I said, they love having shit hand-fed to them; letter-writing just makes their job easier.
