Now son... Resident Evil is not a good movie. It is not an accurate portrayal of the video game, or even a valid entry into the horror genre. Basically, its a lot of bad actors going around with big guns shooting slow-moving, non-threatening zombies.

Resident Evil is hardly a pioneer to begin with. The only thing Resident Evil does is continue the precedent for worthless video game to movie adaptations set forth by John Leguizamo's Magnum Opus, "Super Mario Brothers: The Movie"

28 Days Later was a fresh, new approach to the Zombie movie, one that actually managed to make Zombies appear threatening again. The cinematography was great; the ambience the film produced was magnificent.

You better have something more than, "Well Resident Evil had guns and lots of blood, and the Jovovich chick gets naked". Because those things do not a movie make.
