I'm back. So, I got my 10th MRI of the past year last night and something really fucked up happened. It got to the last two parts that are 4 and 3 minutes respectively. They usually go (imagine a buzzing tone like a fire alarm)
BEH BEH BEH BEH BEH BEH BEH BEH BEH
pulsing for four minutes, then again for three minutes. Last night it went
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH
for four solid minutes then a few-second break, then again for three minutes. I felt like I could feel my blood pumping and puslating throughout my entire body.
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT
I got my checkup today and everything looks good. My brain is nice and clean and the little scar thing leftover from the surgery isn't changing and the cancer isn't spreading or growing.
We had a brief talk about chemotherapy and my doctor was straight forward and said that he's 100% 50/50 and wouldn't insist me to go through it, and that I could benefit from waiting for maybe 4 or 5 or 8 or 10 years because they only recently figured out how genetics fit into the puzzle, which can tell them if certain people's cancers will be suceptible to certain treatments, and that in a few years they could have a totally new form of treatment that's less disturbing to the body and more effective.
Tomorrow is the Anniversary of finding out about the tumor and I realized that in the past year I've only gotten bad news twice:
"You have a brain tumor"
"It's malignant"
Thanks all, I really consider a lot of the people on these message boards my friends. I've known some of you guys from WAAAY back in the early days of VA. Thanks again, and...shit...I always suck and ending these messages...uhm...HEY! Look over there! It's a giant guinea pig!!!
*quickly runs away*
