The band is the brainchild of Billy Howerdel, a former guitar tech that worked for Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, and others.
Josh Freese plays drums, and if I'm not mistaken, he plays drums with the Vandals and is supposedly drumming with the Offspring now, too.
