So obviously we aren't going to see eye-to-eye on the rap issue. What I will say, however, is that it is rather closeminded of you to limit someone's ability to judge good music because of their age.
I'm 24 - and while that did not make me around for the days where some really great bands were still performing - that doesn't mean that the albums aren't available for me to listen to and judge for myself. Not everyone who is young is "brainwashed". Give an entire generation a little credit about being able to think for themselves. So, you don't like rap? So what. The fact that someone may enjoy rap doesn't exactly ruin the judgement they have towards other music.
