But I have come to sort of a peace about it within the last few months that, although not a fan of the genre, I use to diffuse some people who rave adamently about how much it sucks. I believe I was flipping channels late one night and came across Def Poetry on HBO, most of which was excellent, kind of weird for me because I'm FAR from what today's society would call "urban", when it hit me - rap is simply aggressive poetry with a beat. That's it, when you think about it. So although I don't really care much for it, I do have this sort of respect for it.
Take that for what you will, because I KNOW nobody here cares.
