Okay maybe Im a dumbass but I honestly just didnt get it. If the goal was to make politicians and Washington insiders seem even more like opportunistic shit-stains, well, isnt that sort of a foregone conclusion anyway. I just really didnt get that show at all, and watching folks like Carville and other career politicians trading on their political "celebrity status" and playing themselves on a fictional TV show actually made me want to wretch. On top of that, it just wasnt that interesting. What the fuck was Clooney thinking? I think for some reason celebrities are fascinated with politicians, and all politicians are closet attention whores who want to be celebrities. Its wierd because successful actors/actresses make a living by imitating sincerity, and the hilarious thing about watching politicians reading their lines is that even when theyre playing THEMSELVES they cant pull it off, its pretty bad when James Carvel just wasnt all that convincing AS James Carvel! It just goes to show that personality and sincerity are usually foreing concepts to politicians.
