Are you suggesting that Americans are to daft to appreciate good humor? Look, we enjoy a good laugh as much as any nation, except for maybe Jamaica....and Uruguay. Of course the Swedes aren’t shy when it comes to slapping a knee. Come to think of it, most nations enjoy a good laugh more than us.
