This was inspired by Kitchen Wench's post earlier about annoying phrases. I thought of a few more but they fit in a different category. And that category is "Idiotic Company Slogans." I know that this should provide a wealth of answers as I'm sure that 90% of this board has worked for some type of company that has these. So go for it, and post away.
Here are a few of mine:
I remember seeing this one on the side of a truck that was delivering product to the company I worked for. Something like:
"Our best is the least we can do"
Talk about butchering the english language. There is only one way this can be true and that is that they always work by doing the least they can. Whoever thought that up is an idiot.
In fact there are a lot of company slogans that should be outright abolished. My friend from the same job as above used to work at a company where this was their slogan"
"Working together to make it happen"
This really inspires workers at the company. Working together to make IT happen. What is IT exacly? Working together to make the upper-management richer? Working together to make the company go bankrupt? Working together to make a longer lunch?
And lastly at the company I've been working for on and off:
"Being the best at what the customer values most"
In the same vain as the above slogan, what the hell is it that the customer values most? I think the customer values a longer lunch break. I think the customer values the workers getting more money. After all I am a customer of my company and I value these things most.
