It is exactly a plotless tribute to Kung Fu movies. I guess if plotless tributes to Kung Fu movies can be considered good, this will probably be considered one of the best plotless tributes to Kung Fu movies ever made. Such is the ambition of the celebrated American movie director, and such is the taste (tastelessness) of the American public. I was too disappointed that my 28-screen godzilla-plex couldn't spare ONE FRIGGIN' SCREEN for "Mystic River," so that probably factored into my lack of enthusiasm for the thing.
