The original Butterfly effect deals with "If a butterfly beats its wings in Japan, it causes storms in California.."
But if it has to do with time-travel, it reminds me of an old Twilight Zone or Outer Limits episode where a guy time travels, but has this hologrphic sidewalk to walk on 2 feet above the ground, so that he has no impact on the past - for as we saw in Back to the Future 1,2, and 3...the smallest change can have drastic effects - well, in this episode, the guy falls off his sidewalk in the air, then stands up and sees a butterfly crushed under his shoe. When he returns to present-day, its a horrible, Nazi-run alternate present! All because some damn prehistoric butterfly was crushed, thus upsetting the chain of evolution and the very fabric of the sapce-time continum!!!
Now make like a tree....and get outta here!
