I constructed this list with respect in how the music was used in the movie.
Best used songs in a movie (in no particular order):
1. "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" by the Righteous Brothers in "Top Gun". (Especially in light of Bobby Hatfield recent passing.)
2. "Only the Young" by Journey in "Vision Quest".
3. "Bad to the Bone" by Thuragood in "T2". (I know it wasn't on the sdtk., but it was genius to put it in its respective scene in the movie.)
4. "Heart's On Fire" by John Cafferty in "Rocky IV". (Anytime I hear this song, I want to go workout 'er somethin'.)
5. "Hero" by Foo Fighters in "Varsity Blues".
