Maybe he was a good alien like ET..... j/k. I think Duddits was and alien from a different planet but knew about Mr. Grey. Mr Grey was looking for Duddits. Maybe Duddits' race of Alien has teleconeisse powers so That would explain the whole mind reader thing.
