The great thing about this, and many boards, is that when something serious comes along, people don't dick around.
When I learned I could have a tumor, people showed concern and hoped for the best. When I learned I did have a tumor, they still hoped for the best. When I learned I had cancer, they kept hoping and kept giving me encouraging words. Before my most recent MRI, Kevin wished me luck and hoped for the best. I've had cancer for a little over 4 years now, but I'm doing fine, and I'm going to keep doing better.
I hope your friend gets through this. I know it's corny, but remember that there isn't a cancer that hasn't been survived by someone.
Stay strong, and attitude really is half the battle.
