As a local boy who made good as a filmmaker, Kevin is a hero to a lot of our students at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey, as well as the surrounding community. In fact, his film Clerks included some local talent--students, in fact.
This message is my attempt to feel Kevin out (not up!) on whether he would be willing/available to return to his native Monmouth County in May 04 to receive an honorary degree from Brookdale. If he is indeed at least preliminarily interested, I would float it by the president and the Board of Trustees for their approval.
I'm PR & Marketing director at the College. I could've and probably should've tried contacting him via the e-mail address that a friend of mine (Tara Kelly, formerly of Brookdale) has. But it's so much more fun writing to Kevin through this site.
