That's my point. For some reason, there is now an unwritten rule about supernatural storytelling. You aren't allowed to tell a real story with magical elements anymore. It's either all (a la the Lord of the Rings-not that I'm complaining), or nothing.

I kinda felt like he was channeling his Big Boy performance from Dick Tracy in the scene where he and that other guy try and convince Joe to take that job in Washington.
