: The Catholics are a pretty good example of this. I was watching this thing on Judas on the History Channel, and they said that up until the 1950's, the idea of Jesus dying upon the cross willingly for the sins of mankind wasn't even heard of. Back then, the church still blamed the Jews for the crucifixion. Sure, he died for the sins of mankind, but he died because of the JEWS. But, suddenly, they decided that was stupid, and opted for the more heroic approach.

: In 1955, 1960, you'd probably find more Catholics who still hated Jews than more Catholics who didn't. But now it's just common knowledge: the Jews had nothing to do with it.

I don't agree with this whole Catholic/Jew deal. Maybe it is because I'm protestant (I don't know the history of antisemitism in non Catholic Christians) and I don't know anything about antisemitism. Shit, my great grandfather was a Dutch cop and he snuck Jews to the underground and out of the country, all the while pretending he was working for the Nazis, despite the fact that his family abandoned him for that fact. And my family has been Christian for much longer than that.
I think your view of that struggle between blame for Jews and Jesus' choice is incorrect. I think that it was Jesus' choice. I mean if you believe he is the Son of God, you KNOW it had to be his choice. But I will not deny the fact that it was the Jews (not even the Jews, but the pharisees, those offended by Jesus' taking of followers and such) who put him in that position.
As for the rest, I agree that it is sad that the black population is holding something as stupid as all that izzle shit and claiming it as their own. They have many better things to be proud of without claiming bad grammar and silly speach patterns.
