About the newsworthiness...

I certainly wasn't trying to imply national news outlets would carry the story. But for those in the know, it would be news.

Now about the homo-erotic underpinnings...

My first thought, on the original post, was of Guin actually having a hetero-marriage after all the emphasis being a lesbian. That a guy would find harmony with the inner Guin. I don't want to be cliche in referencing Chasing Amy, but that would be a way of looking at it. There are many hetero-men that would find a woman of her caliber to be beautiful. That's all.
